We are currently working with a leading broadcast organisation that has a permanent opportunity for a Distribution Engineer to join its London based team.
As Distribution Engineer you will have one direct report and be responsible for providing day-to-day engineering support of the distribution operations, including decoder and multiplexing operations. You will also participate in engineering projects as and when required, representing the team in project meetings and communicating information to key stakeholders. This is a service-based role so applicants must be able to liaise with third party vendors to ensure their services are delivered to the highest possible standard. As part of your role you will also manage the Dataminer monitoring system to maintain the service and reduce outage durations.
To be considered for this role, you should have previous experience working within a distribution engineering environment. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Conditional Access Systems (CAS) and DVB, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 compression systems is required, along with experience of encoding platforms and multiplex technology, in particular Cisco PowerVu would be advantageous.
Alongside the technical skills required, you must have excellent customer facing, verbal and written communication skills. Any additional supervisory experience would be highly desirable.
