We are currently working with a leading multi-national broadcast, post production and media services company that is looking to recruit an Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join its team, based in West London, on a permanent basis.
As Systems Engineer, you will take responsibility for the provision and support of the company’s EMEA infrastructure systems and services which include virtualisation, storage, data centre services, server hardware etc. You will also be responsible for new client and internal service provisioning and the hand over to the support team.
This position is a mixture of project work which will include defining project requirements, bills of materials and scopes of work, ensuring technology projects are delivered on time and budget, as well as 3rd line support work, acting as an escalation point for any infrastructure issues that occur.
Applicants should have a proven background as a Systems/Infrastructure Engineer or Systems Administrator, with strong knowledge across a wide range of infrastructure technologies. In-depth knowledge of all Microsoft services and virtualisation software is essential, as is a solid understanding of storage principles (e.g. RAID, IOPS etc), IP Networking, routing (TCP/IP stack) and public cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Additionally, exposure to the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of webservers, specifically Windows IIS, is also important.
Experience of working in a high availability data centre environment is highly desirable, as is experience with automation, scripting and configuration management.
