We are currently working with a leading broadcast services company that is looking to recruit a Transmission Controller on a permanent basis, to work across ingest, playout and MCR.
As a Transmission Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring automated transmission systems, coordinating ingest processes and ensuring the accurate execution of TX schedules delivering the correct content at the right time. You will ensure that OFCOM guidelines are adhered to and that playlists are running smoothly and on-pass services are delivered fault-free to clients worldwide.
Providing first line support of playout services and equipment, you will troubleshoot problems, diagnose circuit faults and escalate and resolve issues swiftly, working in close partnership with the Engineering department. You will also handle all daily communication between clients / stakeholders and playout control, including playlist deliveries / revisions, live TX preparation, graphic scheduling etc.
Candidates will have proven experience of working within a live broadcast transmission environment, with the ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of the end-to-end channel playout process. You will have hands-on experience of playout systems and captioning and graphics workflows and knowledge of video distribution workflows via satellite, IP, fibre or cloud, along with an awareness of radio broadcasting would be ideal.
This role will be working in a fast-paced environment, therefore candidates must be highly pro-active, able to work well under pressure and have a keen desire to learn.
You will be working within a 24/7 support team on a 7 day fortnight shift pattern and you must therefore be flexible to work 12 hour shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays (typically 8am-8pm / 8pm-8am).
