A leading broadcaster currently has a fantastic opportunity for a Broadcast Support Engineer to join its London based team on a 4-month contract.
As a Broadcast Support Engineer, you will provide in-depth technical support and maintenance to high-level broadcast systems used for the distribution of SD and HD content. You will join a team of skilled Engineers to ensure maximum system availability and resolve incidents as quickly and as effectively as possible. You will also upgrade and improve existing infrastructure and provide systems training to members of the department.
Applicants must have a strong knowledge of broadcast video compression, encoding and decoding technologies as well as familiarity of MPEG and DVB standards. A good technical knowledge of Linux systems, preferably Red Hat, is important, as is experience of working in a live broadcast environment, using either traditional delivery or OTT broadcasting systems. Additional experience of programming/scripting, such as, C++, PHP, PL/SQL would be beneficial, as would knowledge of Oracle databases.
Please note that this a Monday to Friday 9-5 position, but flexibility on working hours may be required for projects, according to business requirements.
