We are currently working with a leading independent audio-book publishing company that has an exciting opportunity available for a Casting Assistant to join its team based in the East Midlands.
As Casting Assistant you will be responsible for assessing books and manuscripts for a variety of genres and casting suitable actors to narrate the audio-books, whilst ensuring that the projects meet company standards and are delivered on time. You will report into the Studio Manager and liaise with the studio team regarding recording times required for each project and will develop and manage the database of actors and narrators, including logging their skills and requirements. In this role, you will develop working relationships between internal and external stakeholders, raise contracts, detail all bookings and fees and consult with authors, agents and publishers as and when required.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must be able to project manage and prioritise workloads as you will be working on multiple projects simultaneously. This position will suit somebody who has recently studied a Media Communications or English Literature related degree, or equivalent, ideally with an interest in audio-books. Previous casting experience would be highly advantageous.
You must also be able to work well within a team and have natural problem solving and negotiation skills to ensure that projects are completed to deadlines and within budgets.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this role, in addition to exceptional literacy and comprehension skills.
A current EU driving licence is also essential for this position.
