We currently have a great permanent opportunity for a Communications Technician to join a leading outside broadcast company. You will be part of a team of Technicians and Engineers that travel to major sporting events globally and are responsible for installing and supporting a range of data and communications equipment.
As Communications Technician you will install cables and electronic equipment using specialist testing equipment to ensure they are fully functional and ready for the event, ensuring any faults that occur are identified and rectified as quickly and efficiently as possible. The position will also involve rigging and de-rigging equipment and therefore heavy lifting will be required at times.
To be considered for this role applicants should have a HND standard electrical/electronic qualification, or equivalent, with experience of working with electronic/electrical systems. Any exposure to working with communications systems would be of interest and strong fault-finding skills are essential. You should also have IT skills and be able to set-up IP addresses. You should be comfortable working on your own or as part of a team, possess strong attention to detail and be able to learn new technical skills quickly.
The sporting events are based around the world and the role will involve regular international travel and weekend work during the season, so candidates must be flexible in their approach to work.
