A leading, London based broadcast facility is currently looking to recruit an experienced IT Support Engineer to join it on a permanent basis. As part of the IT team, you will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to a wide range of systems and technologies for users and teams working in a busy 24/7 broadcast environment.
Working as an IT Support Engineer, you will ensure all technical faults are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible, or implement alternative solutions to ensure the broadcast output is not affected. You will work with support providers to ensure escalation support is in place for key business critical systems and also provide support to new and existing projects, researching and making recommendations regarding new equipment and systems where needed.
To be considered for this role, applicants should have a proven background in a similar client facing IT support environment, with exposure to supporting a wide range of IT systems and technologies. Key experience required includes: Windows administration, Windows 2008 Server / 2012 Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, security and firewall configuration, administration of anti-virus environments (ideally Kaspersky Lab) and virtualisation using VMWare or HyperV.
Any additional exposure to Linux, SAN architectures, video file formats, file delivery systems and Mac OS X workstations would also be highly beneficial.
In addition to the technical experience, it is essential applicants also have excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills, strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
As the company operates a 24/7 broadcast environment, this role will be shift based and will include some nights and weekends, therefore a flexible approach to working hours is essential.
