We currently have an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced OTT Engineering Manager to join the close-knit OTT Support Team of a leading broadcast service provider based in London.

Managing a small team of OTT Engineers, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality of service, staff performance and technical support to customers.

As the OTT Engineering Manager you will ensure SLAs are met, support contracts are in place for key technologies, assist with contract renewals from a technical perspective, implement the OTT support strategy, devise staff training plans for continuous team development and carry out reporting / analysis.

Candidates will have worked within a live OTT encoding and origin video delivery environment previously, ideally as an OTT Engineer with some supervisory or team management experience.

You will have in-depth technical knowledge across file-based video formats, workflows, transcoding, live encoding for internet streaming (including ABR and CBR stream delivery to origin), multicasting and IP video distribution, metadata analysis, storage, RAID and security systems.

In addition, you will have a strong understanding of Linux operating systems, networking (TCP/IP, routers, switches, Ethernet), dynamic packaging services and DRM (Digital Rights Management). Scripting skills (preferably Python) are also important.

Any knowledge of Elemental Live encoders and Delta origin services would be highly advantageous, along with any experience of Unified Streaming Platform software / infrastructure.

Applicants must have hands-on engineering skills and a flexible approach, as this role will also require you to provide occasional shift-based cover for the Engineering team within a 24/7 support environment, including nights and weekends.

A strong understanding of service management, along with exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain technically complex issues and solutions to non-technical people are also vital.
