A leading broadcast services company currently has an exciting opportunity for an SNG Manager to join its Surrey based team.

As an SNG Manager you will take responsibility for the company’s SNG operations and manage a small team of staff Engineers which is supplemented with freelancers. You will manage the quality of the technical resources, analyse service incident reports, develop plans to improve the quality of service and produce weekly summaries of services and events covered.

Working closely with the sales team to ensure that they have the information required to provide quotations, you will also undertake preliminary resource planning to ensure that sufficient resources, including manpower, trucks and other equipment, are available as and when required.

Alongside this you will manage and monitor the day-to-day financial aspects of the division, covering both CAPEX and OPEX, gaining agreement from management on CAPEX required and ensuring that cost-effective solutions are proposed.

Applicants should have a solid technical understand of SNG vehicles and associated technologies, including, an understanding of baseband, DVB, up-converters, down-converters, encoders and decoders, modulators and HPAs.

Strong interpersonal and man-management skills are essential as is the ability to work methodically and under pressure to tight time deadlines. Any exposure to managing resources for large events would also be highly beneficial.
