A global broadcast organisation has an excellent initial 6 month fixed-term contract opportunity available for an experienced Software Development Manager to join its Europe based Digital division .
With a hands-on full stack development skillset, you will manage all digital software and application development activities, covering software architecture, design, implementation and quality assurance.
As the Software Development Manager, you will work closely with Product Owners, gathering requirements for new services, products and feature requests; providing input into the product definition process (UI/UX design, functional descriptions, technical specifications); performing technical analysis, producing detailed designs and suggesting improvements for existing applications.
Taking the technical lead on projects, you will coordinate outsourced software programming resources and third party suppliers. You will define and scope projects, manage the integration of diverse products from different vendors using API, oversee application deployments and build test plans with QA teams.
Candidates will have a proven background as a Software Engineer or Application Developer, with excellent experience of managing large-scale, front-end web application projects for global e-commerce, internet or video platforms. Previous experience of coordinating external software development suppliers is essential.
You will have a deep understanding of web frameworks (ideally Java, .Net, Spring or Django), UI technologies (Ajax, HTML 5, CSS, Angular, JQuery, Bootstrap), databases (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB), cloud solutions (AWS, EC2, S3), messaging queues (RabbitMQ, MQTT) and CI/CD DevOps technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
